Toys have been used by teachers as concrete objects to teach subjects such as mechanics and architecture. Wooden toys have a long history around the world and have many advantages including durability, safety and being environmentally friendly. Dozens of wooden toys were donated by a Chinese wooden toy company for the local children to enjoy. These colorful and elegant toys attracted children and adults alike to join in and play for a while.
World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, Nepal, and United States respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
