Wood Materials
International Woodcarving Show will utilize Stone Pine of the Alps as carving materials in World Wood Day 2019. The Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra), also known as the Queen of the Alps, grows in the Bavarian, Austrian and Swiss Alps at over 1,800 m sea level.
Wood Slab Collaboration
There will be six wood slab groups of three woodcarvers to represent each of their own respective continents. Asia, Europe, Africa, South, and North America and Oceania.
Individual Carving
We encourage small group collaboration for individual carving. 2 people or 10 people can form a group with these materials. We hope this form of collaboration will spark creativity between each woodcarver to express this year’s theme “Change”
