Regional Event in Mauritius
2020 World Wood Day regional event was held in Mauritius on the theme "Legacy ". The event took place at Ecole Sculpture de Bambous with Jean Lewis Dick and the local authorities such as the President of Bambous John Anseline, the Deputy of Bambous Sandra Mayotte, the Officer of the Ministry of Arts and Culture Riley Morphoise.
The opening ceremony began with all participants including sculptors, 20 kids from APEIM & Autisme Maurice Association, local media, musicians and dancers. It was followed by endemic tree planting, woodcarving demonstration and exhibition. The event ended with a musical workshop by playing wooden made musical instruments with disabled kids and a Mauritian cultural show.
