Wood is playing a prominent role for our future. It is our duty to teach the young generation the responsible wood use. Therefore, wood education classes together with specially designed interactive exhibitions of Roboky, originally from Japan, will be given to introduce the characteristics and importance of this eco-friendly bio-material. Hands-on activities will be included so that young children can learn through senses of smell, touch and hearing. Woodworking demonstrations including wooden sticks, and picture-story shows of the popular children's books, Roboky, will further nurture their interest in and appreciation of wood.
World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, Nepal, and United States respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
