2017 World Wood Day regional event in Jordan provided both visual and invaluable experiences of wood culture. With the theme, "Roots", it was held in the Forest area on campus of the University of Jordan on November 15, 2017.
Programs:
1) Woodcraft Project
Themed “Wood for Art, Joy and Culture”, it aims to bring on- the- spot woodcarving experiences and cultural messages carried by the wood arts to the audience.
2) Children’s Event
The refugee children are given an unique opportunity to learn the basic skills of woodcarving and knowledge of wood, and build confidence through the Woodcraft Project.

World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, Nepal, and United States respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
