The International Young Adult Furniture Making Invitational (IYAFMI) 2019 took place at Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing and featured 16 young furniture makers from around the world to be part of it. There were 10 individual projects each designed and built by all of the new invitees who had their first experience of the World Wood Day this year in Austria; and there were 3 collaboration projects created and built by team leaders from Australia, Japan, and Taiwan with all invitees’ teamwork and contribution. Last but not least, apart from the individual projects and collaboration projects, the host country assembled a team of three talented Austrian young adults to represent their country, and Team Austria created a project by re-designing a piece of common traditional chest with additional modern elements to reflect the theme of Change.
