
International Woodcarving Show serves as a platform of showcasing the traditional woodcarving techniques from different cultural heritages around the world. The World Wood Day 2020 “Legacy” in Tokyo, Japan will invite 80 international woodcarvers from different regions to demonstrate their creativities through carving individually, group collaborations and wooden panels to create forest totems. The audiences and participants will have a chance to see a vivid exhibition with traditional craftsmanship and witness many different cultural interpretations of “Legacy” through woodcarving.

World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, Nepal, and United States respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
