The 2016 World Wood Day International Woodcarving Show presents arts and talents from 73 countries and regions of 112 participants with the theme of "Nature & Culture". From raw wood selection to the woodcarving demonstration and finally the grand exhibition, the whole process extend the beauty and culture of wood of different origins and creativity. The audience are engaged and amazed when seeing how pieces of wood can be transformed by the woodcarvers into truly marvellous arts.
World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, and Nepal respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
