Gathered 10 countries and 6 Nepali ethnic groups, Folk Art Workshop highlighted the multiple dimensions of wood in our everyday living and the combination of wood and culture in different societies. Through exhibitions of wide range of artworks and housewares, this 5-day event invited audiences to rediscover the beauty of wood. Demonstrations of the making processes showcased stunning traditional craftsmanship. Hands- on workshops offered fun and unforgettable opportunity for audiences to create their own pieces of artwork.
World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually during the week of March 21st to highlight wood as an eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise awareness on the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. Starting from 2013, WWD celebrations were held in Tanzania, China, Turkey, and Nepal respectively, involving participants from over 100 countries and regions.
