Ghana

On the 30^th of January and 5^th of February, 2016, two preliminary regional competitions were held to select a woodcarver and a young furniture maker respectively to represent Ghana in 2016 World Wood Day event (WWD) in Nepal. 8 woodcarvers, who were selected from some major carving centres, showed their passion for wood and skills during the 10-hour competition. Although, Mr. ABOSTI, George, winner of the carving competition, was unable to show up in 2016 WWD event, the activity undoubtedly helped support local artists and carving industry in Ghana.
