International Young Adult Furniture Making Invitational (IYAFMI)

International Young Adult Furniture Making Invitational(IYAFMI), 2025, Tokyo, Japan.

World Wood Day is a cultural event celebrated annually on March 21st to highlight wood as the ultimate eco-friendly and renewable biomaterial and to raise international awareness of the key role wood plays in a sustainable world. WWD serves as an important and relevant platform for international wood related artisans and devotees to explore the beauty of wood in different aspects of life.
Towards this aim, WWD and IYAFMI gives young adults from around the globe an arena to showcase their talent designing and creating bespoke wooden items in both individual and collaborative spheres.  Techniques are shared, exchanged and learned, appreciation and understanding of different cultures and influences are fast tracked and strong bonds are formed amongst the participants.
Future further leadership opportunities are offered and widely sought.
In 2025, IYAFMI will take place in Tokyo Japan and the broad theme for the event is “eco-living with wood”.
The event will be conducted at Japan’s prestigious Institute of Technologists in Gyoda on 21-27 March.
