International Wood Carving Camp
Date: April 3 - 8
Co-organized by: Inami Woodcarving Cooperative
Location: Inami Wood Carving Vocational Training School
Inami, a town in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, is renowned for its rich tradition of woodcarving, especially the intricate “Inami-sculpted” carvings that have been crafted for centuries. The Ranma carvings are wooden transom panels featuring the centuries-old traditional motifs with architectural function. The craftsmanship is showcased in many temples, wood sculptures and many professionally trained wood carvers that reflect the cultural heritage and skills of the artisans.
The International Wood Carving Camp provides a great opportunity for wood carvers to learn, exchange, and excel their skills from Japanese culture and local masters.
