This years World Wood Day tree planting is more than a ceremony — it is a living tribute.
Held on March 28, 2025, at the University of Tokyo Tanashi Forest (Japan), the planting honors the legacy of three remarkable figures whose lives were dedicated to wood science, culture, and forests: Dr. Chung-Yun Hse, Dr. Pieter Baas, and Dr. Song-Yung Wang.
Each tree planted carries forward their lifelong commitment to understanding, protecting, and celebrating wood and forests. As these trees grow, they stand as a reminder that knowledge, care, and collaboration continue beyond generations.
