Welcome to 2013 World Wood Day

World Wood Day is celebrated on March 21 to raise awareness on how wood plays a key role for a sustainable future. The idea behind World Wood Day is a cultural approach to realize the concept wood is good.

To celebrate the first year World Wood Day, 2013 World Wood Day with the theme "A Cultural Approach to Achieve Wood is Good," commenced its inaugural celebration on March 21st in Tanzania with a series of specially designed events after years of preparation.

Duplicate of Chungu Narayan Shiva Temple (Tiered Temple) in Nepal

It took 9 days, 531 timber pieces, 422 joints, and 7 tons of reclaimed Sal Wood (local hardwood) to construct a wooden structure, the duplicate of the Chungu Narayan Shiva Temple (one of the oldest temples in Nepal) during the World Wood Day 2016.
