On May 10th, the Children DIY Maker Activity - 2023 World Wood Day China Event, organized by the International Wood Culture Society, was successfully held at The 3rd Kindergarten of the Beijing Dongcheng District Health Commission. This event primarily utilized defective toys and processed leftover materials as the main resources, targeting children aged 5 to 6 years old as participants. With their bold imaginations, the children created numerous imaginative and creative works. During the wood education classes, the children learned about interesting facts about trees and discovered the connection between wood and various aspects of our daily lives, such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation. They gained a deeper understanding of the benefits and importance of wood. The event not only fostered the children's creativity but also encouraged them to practice resource conservation and recycling through the experience of turning waste into treasure. Additionally, it enhanced their awareness of environmental protection.
