The 2023 World Wood Day regional event in India was hosted by Indian Artist Mr. Mohit Jangid and his family team members at their new workshop on June 2, 2023.
Mr. Mohit Jangid is the fourth generation of his family engaged in wood carving in Jaipur, India. Their family’s unique sandalwood miniature carving technique has won twice the national award.
On June 2nd, they invited students from Jecrc University to their workshop "Team Malji Arts" to experience the unique art of wood. The materials and tools used in the event were provided. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about the woodcarving craft and skills.
Mr. Mohit Jangid and his family are committed to promoting the art of woodcarving and supporting the livelihoods of skilled artisans. The purpose in hosting this World Wood Day regional event is “facilitating the new generation to foster their passion”.
