The WWD 2023 Regional Event took place at Taq-e Bostan in Kermanshah Province, Iran, from June 10th to 14th. Dr. Alireza Bavandpour and AmirHosein Bavandpour directed and organized this event, aiming to foster artist participation from across Iran under the theme 'Wood in Cultural Heritage.'
The event showcased both Group and Individual projects. In the Group project, participants collaborated to create two-dimensional wood-carved artworks symbolizing the cultural and historical heritage of Kermanshah city. The Individual project empowered participants to craft their own artworks, drawing inspiration from the theme. By the event's conclusion, a total of 16 unique artworks had been produced, illuminating the significance of wood as a symbol of nature, life, and Cultural Heritage—an embodiment of humanity's roots.
Notably, these regional event artworks have found a permanent residence in the World Wood Day Museum located in Kermanshah, Iran, further solidifying their connection to the cultural legacy.
