Beijing Tongzhou: Wengwangge Woodcraft Nurtures Young Minds
In celebration of 2026 World Wood Day, Beijing Wengwangge Woodcraft Museum launched children’s woodworking experience activities to inherit traditional woodworking culture through fun practice. During the event, young participants stepped into a "construction workshop" to explore wood science and ancient mortise-and-tenon techniques, immersing themselves in the historical depth of carpentry. Under instructors’ guidance, they practiced sawing, sanding, and creative crafting, discovering the artistry in every touch of wood.
By combining wood culture education with hands-on practice, the event helped children understand the value of wood and inherit traditional skills in an immersive way. It conveyed the idea of World Wood Day through practice, enabling woodworking civilization to be passed on from generation to generation in young and creative hands.
